Strobe effect final cut pro x

When we were working with FCP7 there was a strobe effect (no idea if it was a plugin). This effect created a very dramatic effect wit replacing some frames with just black so the movement was very dramatic. I did not find anything in FCPX besides Flicker, but that is not dramatic enough Does anyone have an idea how to create this effect
